Laphet Thohk – Burmese Tea Leaf Salad
It’s a famed dish, a salad made from pickled tea leaves mixed with crunchy beans, green chilly slices, and garlic. Apparently, Burma is one of only a few countries in the world that drinks and eats tea leaves. The texture of the salad was unique, adoring combination of soft, crunchy, crispy, and saucy. Whenever any guests walk in to a host family of Myanmar, at least they’re thinking to serve you with a bowl of tea-leaf-salad and plane tea. This is practiced for a very long tradition and such a lovely culture of beautiful Myanmar people.
